Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 17, 2026. Last Updated: April 17, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how VINOS DEL SUR LLC ("Vino Santo Bistro", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and safeguards personal information when you visit https://vinosantobistro.com or use our services.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your name, email address, hashed password, subscription plan, and account creation date.
- Transaction information: shipping and billing address, items ordered, order totals, and the last four digits of the payment card. Full card numbers are tokenized by our payment processor and never stored on our servers.
- Communications: the contents of messages you send us and our replies.
- Usage data: pages viewed, recipes saved, filters applied, approximate location (country and region), referring URL, browser type, and device type.
- Advertising identifiers: identifiers placed by the Microsoft Advertising UET Tag to measure ad campaign performance.
2. Microsoft Advertising UET Tag disclosure
We use the Microsoft Advertising Universal Event Tracking (UET) tag to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Bing and the Microsoft Advertising network. The UET tag sets a cookie on your device that records that you visited a Vino Santo page after clicking one of our ads and whether you completed actions such as joining the membership or placing an order. This information helps us optimize ad spend and deliver more relevant ads.
You can opt out of Microsoft Advertising personalization at account.microsoft.com/privacy and from broader interest-based advertising at optout.aboutads.info.
3. How we use information
- To operate the service: create and maintain your account, process payments, ship orders, and provide customer support.
- To personalize your experience: recommend recipes, save your favorites, and tailor your member letter.
- To communicate with you: send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates), the weekly member letter (if subscribed), and important legal notices.
- To improve our products: analyze aggregated usage patterns to refine features and recipes.
- To measure advertising effectiveness: aggregate campaign-level metrics from the UET tag and our analytics partners.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK residents)
We process your personal information under these legal bases: (a) contractual necessity to provide the services you signed up for, (b) your consent for marketing emails and non-essential cookies, (c) our legitimate interests in running and improving the service, and (d) compliance with a legal obligation.
5. Sharing and disclosure
We share information only with service providers who help us operate: payment processing, shipping, email delivery, customer support tooling, analytics, and advertising measurement. We require all providers to handle data in line with this policy and applicable law.
We never sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising without notice and opt-out.
6. Data retention
We retain account data for 3 years after your last sign-in, after which we delete or anonymize it. Order and tax records are retained for 7 years to meet accounting and tax obligations. Marketing contact records are kept until you unsubscribe plus 30 days.

9. Security
We use TLS 1.2 or higher for data in transit, encrypt account passwords with bcrypt, and run access logs with role-based permissions. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your personal information and to meet applicable standards.
